A new country experience is ahead of us!

On a Nicaragua tour you can explore artisan’s markets, colonial cities and best of all active volcanoes.

Nicaragua is a whole new country to discover with its active volcano. The closeness to the border gives us the opportunity to drive and visit this beautiful country.

An early start is needed to have a traditional Nicaraguan breakfast at the Playa Virgen, next to the lake. This is in Rivas, one of the departments of Nicaragua.

After breakfast we will continue to Masaya town. The location offers a spectacular lookout point called Las Catalinas. A place with a breathtaking view and with the chance to meet part of the local crafts and souvenirs from local artists.

Next, a visit to the national park Masaya Volcano. This is an active crater, so expect instructions and safety procedures to visit the crater and enjoy the activity in a safe way.

After this visit, we will drive to the colonial city of Granada. A fantastic history from colonial times and the mid 1800s will be the topic of this city. Granada is the oldest city in all Central America, founded in 1524.

During the afternoon, the next destination will be the fabulous chocolate tour to learn about the importance of cocoa and how it is used to produce artisanal chocolate. You will gain a better understanding about the chocolate-making process and the role of chocolate in Nicaragua’s economy.

Experiencing a cigar tour is a must-see for anybody visiting Nicaragua. On the cigar tour, you get to see all the pre-production processes. How they sort, select, dry the leaves as well as the detailed craft of rolling, shaping, and packing the cigar.

The Cocibolca Lake will be our last attraction, it is the nation’s largest source of freshwater lake in Central America, the 19th largest lake in the world and the tenth largest in the Americas A boat ride through the small islands is needed to experience the marvelous wildlife and the modern architecture of the houses.

This will end our visit to the country, and we will start our return trip back to the border.
